Albania to Join Artemis Accords in Signing Ceremony

• Albania is set to become the 73rd signatory to the Artemis Accords.

• The ceremony will be hosted by NASA Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson.
• Representatives from the Republic of Albania include Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha and U.S. Ambassador Ervin Bushati.
• Representatives from the U.S. Department of State will also be in attendance.

Background of the Accords

• Established in 2020 during the first Trump Administration by the U.S. and seven founding nations.
• The initiative provides a framework of practical principles to enhance safety, transparency, and coordination for civil space exploration on the Moon, Mars, and beyond.
• The Accords were developed to address the rising interest in lunar activities among international governments and private sector entities.
