NASA to Cover Three U.S. Spacewalks and Host Preview News Conference

- NASA will conduct three spacewalks in August outside the International Space Station (ISS) to perform solar array upgrades, antenna replacement, and data cable connections.
- A news conference to preview the missions is scheduled for Thursday, July 30, at 2 p.m. EDT, hosted at NASA’s Johnson Space Center and streamed live.
August Spacewalk Schedule
- Aug. 6 (U.S. Spacewalk 96): NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Anil Menon will modify the 3B power channel for future IROSA installation. Live coverage begins at 6:30 a.m. EDT, with the six-and-a-half-hour walk starting at 8 a.m.
- Aug. 13 (U.S. Spacewalk 97): Astronauts will replace a Space-to-Ground antenna used for high-speed communications with the Mission Control Center in Houston.
- Aug. 25 (U.S. Spacewalk 98): Crew members will connect power and data relay cables and replace a navigational aid on the Harmony module’s forward port.
