EZLN plans Mexico City tour to join forces with search collectives
El Salto
- The Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) announced a journey to Mexico City scheduled for December 2026 and January 2027 to mark the 33rd anniversary of their uprising.
- A primary objective is to unite with collectives searching for missing persons to offer solidarity and demand truth and justice.
- Over 670 organizations, human rights centers, and activists are currently organizing the "Gira por la Vida. Capítulo México" (Tour for Life. Mexico Chapter) to receive the delegation.
Recent Zapatista Summer Gatherings
- Throughout the summer, the EZLN hosted "ResignArte u OrganizArte" events in Chiapas to share anticapitalist tactics and autonomous knowledge.
- Events held at Cideci-Unitierra included critical seminars on issues such as militarization, state terrorism, and the struggle for Palestinian rights, involving 23 speakers and the Zapatista Sixth Commission.
- Gatherings at the Caracol of Morelia explored the concept of "el común" (the common), which seeks to collectively manage all aspects of life, including land, food, health, and education.
- The theater production "El común y el día de después" featured over 200 participants illustrating a society that manages life through assemblies post-capitalism.
Arts and Digital Resistance
- Subsequent sessions in August focused on "Arts Under Siege," featuring discussions on dance, film, and theater with professionals like Dolores Heredia and Diego del Río.
- A "cyber-seedbed" for digital art was launched to promote non-AI, human-created graphics specifically aimed at resisting artificial intelligence and supporting the anticapitalist movement.
